Sounds like my night tonite. All of my brain is working on maintaining my posture and I shoot 144,147, 212. Had to throw the last 5 in a row for the 212 to shoot over 500. I haven't been under 500 since I started bowling again in 2014. Good news is we won tonite despite my poor bowling and go into position round next week still hanging onto first place by 1/2 a point since we tied our first game tonite.

I know that feeling, I shoot 180-200 and then a 140. Don't understand why that happens....lol.. This week I shot 156 we won by 100 pins, then a 147, we lost by 90, then We overheard some *** on the other team say let's beat these JERKS again.... Hold me back!!!..lol I started with a double and said loudly even a jerk can bury a few , then left a 10 pin and then on the third strike the *** said nice ball....lol Guess he got the message I was a bit angry. These people didn't even keep their own scores we had to write them in... We won the last game by 90 or so and I shot 196...O and we were tied for 5th place with them....

sorry went off on a rant there....haha. Please continue thread....

Worked with my coach again this morning for a few hours. Timing and release were better. Shot 245,244,213= 702. Going to see my PSA tomorrow and look into altering the span on a few balls to get a quicker release. Hope that works out.

The goal is to get enough quality practice in so that all the motions, footwork, swing, and release, become natural, automatic motions. After that all you need to remember is how to set up in the right posture for you, where you need to stand, where you need to aim, to watch how your ball goes down the lane, and to watch where it goes off the back of the pin deck. I almost always forget the last one by the time the ball gets to the pins.

Practice is not to improve how good your best shot is.

Practice is to improve how good your worst shot is.

Even though what I changed in my game was pretty small, it's still taking a while to get it to feel natural. The higher scores felt good today but in a different house that's much easier to score in. Another month working on fine-tuning my approach and then I'll find something else to work on.

Yes if "You are serious" a coach could help you, he can teach you to bowl in a more proper style than your rugby throw style.

As for being the only hole-less (assuming your referring to your bowling ball ) bowler, I'm afraid your not. There have been others that tried it, that is why they even have rules related to using balls without holes.

A coach probably would try to help, but why not have any holes?
