My opinion is that the fault lies in poorly maintained ball returns. For future reference, any time your ball comes back damaged you need to tell the managementof thebowling center imediately. Anyone with slightest understanding of customer relations will offer some sort of compensation for the damage, usually a free repair. They should also offer to move you to a different pair of lanes if one is available.

did you see when it happened? or just noticed it at some other time? if you seen it happen when the ball was returned that was the time to say something...I have a big scratch on my new ball but just noticed it and it's not on my line of roll so I said nothing.

Isn't it virtually impossible to not get scratches on your ball during regular use? Lol

The one I have is pretty deep and maybe 3"s long, Not from normal use IMO. but as I said it does not affect the ball roll or anything. It was either made by the pin machine or even putting the handle down in my bag...lol.. I used to work on them machines there's a lot that can damage ball's back there...

Agreed. I've had a couple of mine damaged by the pin machines.

Perfect timing on this question. The below happened last Thursday after I threw the ball in the ditch for a 7 pin. LUCKILY, the PSO just happened to be standing there watching me, so there's absolutely no question on when and how it happened.

Update to the damaged Roto Grip Menace from above.

The owner of the house, in consultation with the independent PSO, agreed to replace my ball with a similar ball. Menace was released in August 2015 and they agreed to replace with Roto Grip Critical, released in December 2015.

My Grudge, not left in the heat or cold, not dropped. Pro Shop says they see a hollow void in the ball in the base of the ring finger hole.
