Ya know, high fives don't bother me. I see it as a "post" shot routine for a lot of people. Of course if their preshot includes them licking their fingers then they may get a fist bump lol.

Now, the playing hide and seek when it's your turn to bowl I have little patience for.

We have a guy who not only wanders off, he is nearly deaf so he can't hear someone call for him and he also gets up on the wrong lane at least once a game and stands up on the lane for at about 15 seconds lining up his shot, so he's a triple threat of annoyance ! He is a nice guy and still averages over 200 and he's 75, so I guess we should give him a break.

One time he was nowhere to be found and we discovered he was down at the far end of the house 40 lanes away coaching a kid he knew.....

Of the annoying habits the guys who are always late might be the most annoying, guys that always get there when you've got 3 frames done and should have had more but their teammates slowed down enough to let them get there in time to bowl catch up ......seems like those teams are usually the last ones done.

I was recruited by one guy who I met during the summer Wednesday practice league. No pressure, no teams just pick a pair and bowl with whoever is on it. I had just started bowling again after 25 years. Found out the game has changed a lot. Bought new equipment got some coaching and was shooting good. 170 and even a few 200+ games and a 235..My league average is 154, that says something right there. So he asked me weekly to join his team, I didn't even know him well. So I did. As in my first post I suffer from anxiety and patients issues, I feel I'm not ready for any 3-4 hour experience at this time. The team has no issue with me leaving. They seen how I got during the second hour or so. As far as letting the team down I think first place pays 80.00 a person and a free trip to Golden Corral...I should be bowling right now and there is a little guilt but I think they will have a better time without me bringing them down.

To save face I contacted my team and told them I would come back if they needed. I felt really guilty leaving my first league in 25 years. They already had gotten a replacement s o the guilt is gone but my senior league name may be shot....Maybe not since some knew is was illness that got me....We'll see next season, a summer league will help me I think.

Well that's good to hear. You still happy about your decision to leave?
I have learned that being on the right league makes all the difference.

exactly, I'm sure I was on the wrong league or at least the wrong team, as I said I was pulled on to this team only knowing one guy and not really knowing him except by sight. . They were pretty quiet and not really there. I bowled this week after not bowling since January and when I went there were some of my league people there. They came right over to me and asked if I was ok. I just explained that after 25 years I wasn't ready for a league. (patients issue) I shot 3 practice games next to an guy I kind of knew and we were joking around with shi!! talk, I took him 2 out of 3...lol and shot over average...lol. Then a guy tells me they are looking for someone for the Sunday night league. But really? how would that look saying I wasn't ready for a league and then join another. So I just said I will wait for the summer and try again in a summer league. At least now I am not afraid to walk into the place and show my face. I need to sell my Storm Phaze with like 15 games on it, but do not want to give it away, I will try to sell it local. Having that ball in my bag makes me keep wanting it to work and it just doesn't work for me.

any idea what I should ask for it. it is pin up so all someone would been is maybe move the thumb and finger inserts if it doesn't fit....

you're right, I'll wait for the summer anyway and just practice the rest of this season.
