One of the things that I realized after coaching youth league for a season was that kids are parrots. If I asked a kid who had been bowling for a while in league how to make a ten pin or a seven they would answer “cross alley” or “cross lane”, but then when they would try for the spare, it was obvious that they did not understand what the phrase really meant.
For you, spend a game practicing corner pins, replaying in your head how Mark or Missy had advised you to do it.
