new ball

hey, i got a new ball, got it drilled and played with it for the first time. i had been using my friends ball, no problems. so i got my own and after 3 games with it my thumb got so sore and had a blister like sore and started bleeding! this cant be normal... any suggestions??

This is not a rare situation. Most likely you were bending your thumb to keep your friend's ball on your hand until the release. You need to unlearn this habit. If you talk to the person who drilled the ball they may be willing to work with you a bit on how to release the new ball properly, and they will most likely double check the fit of the ball as well.
