Okay lets say one ball, one league, 102 game season. (not counting practice games)
Sanding or polishing or surface change:
$10 per refreshing the surface is a pretty high price. Average price I've seen is about $4. For a refresh or surface change.
So 9 times in a season that's $36.00
Full resurface including trued up with the diamond wheels on a Haus machine:
Price range is $25 to $40 so $30 is a reasonable price.
Once during the season or at the end of it. $30
That's $66 dollars
extras:
De oiling around $20 in a revivor.
New inserts installed $10, DIY install $8.
Above + extras $96 for the season
Here's a link to a pro shop I just picked at random and it's PRICE LIST OF PRO SHOP SERVICES look at the prices for surface work.

Now if you have a lot balls and/or bowl a lot of practice, yes it can cost a lot. that's why you spend $200-$250 (that's about the cost of one ball) for a spinner and starter kit of supplies and do it yourself.

$220 for a spinner (new) with starter kit that includes pads, cleaners and polishes, $250 for a high end ball =$450 first year. Ball and spinner easily last 5 years. $150 a year for a new ball and never resurface X 5 (years) =$750
To me it's a no brainer.

is this considered a good spinner?
i usually just "throw" my ball to the Pro Shop (they have a spinner there) and my Clean n Dull every month or so.. let them do the work.. lol..
The SMarT Pro is not a Spinner! it's basically just a contoured sandpaper holder.
See all about it here.

This is a spinner
Innovative, Vertex Mold and Donkee make some good ones.
Now The SMarT Pro stuff doesn't look bad. I think if you were a beginner or only had one ball and wanted to experiment with cover changes or freshen up your surface and you were careful. It might be a good , cheap way to go. (I'd get the Rotating Ball Holder too.)
