Thread: issue with my aproach

    Default issue with my aproach

Okay here's the deal. As a junior my approach was as close to straight as can be. But 6 years ago I blew out my left ear drum and now I can't stop from drifting towards my mark. By the way I am a right hander. Say I'm looking at 15 my feet will end on 15 no matter how far left I stand. My balance and my eyes used to always be left side dominant but ever since I started having issues with my left ear I have become more dominant on my right side. Any thoughts?

ok not sure how to fix that but have you tryed to move your target to the left and see if you drift to that mark and maby on your last 2 steps look at your normal target and see if that works im abit like you i drift left but it is because of my right leg, from injuring 2-3 years ago.

but im not fully sure maby bowl1820 might have something that could help you i dont know have the sites he gose too, if i did i could look something up

Provided your ear has no more physical issues then the two above articles should help. The three point targeting system, after reading that, you may want to try targeting the dots at the foul line. I don't recommend this for many people but may be the key to getting you back on track.

www.bowl4fun.com is where I get articles by Joe Slowinski
    www.bowl4fun.com for Ron Clifton articles.

I have read them all and saved as many as I can to a flash drive. Everything I have for bowling is on flash drive from coaching sessions (I record them all, in case I missed something) to articles and charts. Even copies of my cancelled checks lol

Well yes no matter where I look as a target ill drift there. But my main issue is my last 2 and a half steps. I'm for the most part straight till that point where my angle changes and I start walking towards my target. Right now I'm just bowling a feel game making sure my feet is finishing at the same point and just trying to keep my arm swing and release relatively the same without the use of a mark. Still average 215+ this way but I would like to figure out how to straighten up my approach without walking towards my mark.
