Thread: Shoulders!!

    Default Shoulders!!

My teachers are telling me that my shoulders are really effecting my game. I finally cured my drifting problem by simply holding my ball way out to the side and lower and pushing the ball out. But how can I cure crossing my body? I can hit my marks good doing it.

Slow your approach and try a bigger armswing. I used to have a short armswing and was constantly crossing my body. I had a chance to get bowling tips/lessons from Robin Romeo and since i've slowed my feet and gone to a big armswing,i've upped my avg by 20 pins.

Alright, I'm going later today and will film myself and look at it. Is it alright to dip your shoulder?

If I notice myself pulling shots left, my easy fix is to open my shoulders up more during the backswing. If you keep them open enough, it makes it near impossible to cross your arm over and pull the shot.

The line you play has to match your shoulders. I often will move from way outside to deep inside and the first shot will be awful due to my not getting my shoulders open right away. Or vice-versa and drop the first one in the gutter going deep to outside.
