Yes, she throws it straight now, with just a little bit of hook on the back. Speed is about 14mph and her current ball is a 16 pound Columbia, which is too heavy for her now due to her back problems, so I suggested going to a 14 for her new ball.

It's a deal. Of course I'll have to get some other things besides that for Valentines Day, as I'm sure her idea of a romantic evening does not include league night at the local bowling center.

Yeah, I remember my first fingertip ball - I was loving the fact that I could rev the hell out of it and swing from coast to coast all over the lane, but I had no idea what I was doing when I had it drilled nor did I know how to properly throw it and I tore up my hand pretty good the first few times I used it. Pain is a good teacher though - it is nature's way of saying "you're doing it wrong". Unfortunately I also built up about 10 years of bad bowling habits with that first ball that I'm just now starting to "unlearn".

Thanks for all the advice for my wonderful GF everyone! She told me last night she wants to get good enough to do the ABT with me next year - I'm tellin' ya, she's a keeper!

I vote for a Purple Bag with the misfit and another purple ball in it, you can also go for purple roses and a purple diamond

My wife hardly ever bowls, but when she does she is very consistent. She is a 130's average bowler who bowls maybe 2-3 times a year. I would love ot see what she could do with actually bowling regularly. She is also a lefty that bowls down and in. with very little hook. Wish her work schedule allowed for her to bowl more often, I think she could easily pick up 20-30 pins. And AZBowla you have a keeper, now just to hope she doesn't get better than you and starts giving you pointers.

Ha, too late, she already does that, but that's because she has been professionally coached before and was part of a competitive team in high school. She knows what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong better than I do. I often ask her for advice to help me improve my game. I think the only thing keeping her from being "better" than me right now are some lingering back problems and the fact that she's throwing an old ball that's no longer right for her. When I get her that Karma Pearl, she's going to probably start kicking my butt out there, lol!

If I bought her all that then we'd have to LIVE in the purple bowling bag, ya knucklehead! And what, no mention of purple bowling shoes and a purple wrist brace too? You're slipping.

A purple corvette? No, I don't think so. I think one of these would be more her style:
