I personally prefer synthetic as well. On wood I find that my bowling ball reacts earlier which is not how I prefer to bowl. On synthetics I get a lot more length out of my equipment and more backend.

Synthetic. I bowl regularly on wood. On synthetic my ball is more consistent with better reaction. My average is 20 pins higher on synthetic.

Personally, i love bowling on wood lanes on a day by day basis, my average is lower than it should be so when i go to P.O.A tournaments on synthetic lanes i always bowl better.

as for the differences:

wood lanes cause more friction so the ball will hook more (assuming the same lane conditions)

Synthetic lanes are consistent lane to lane, where as wooden lanes can very greatly (i normally play 2 different lines in league)

Wooden lanes are also easier to damage, so lofting is a no no.

well, it could have something to do with the increased friction, given your high ball speed, the added hook could help.

other than that, how do you know you bowl better on wood? have you bowled on wood at more than one center? it's possible that the oil conditions at that particular house are really easy or something....

yea we have to allys around me with wood one easy the other harder? i bowl on the harder one only 2 300 games in 3 years and one was the owner the other his dad lol both where PBA bowlers
