The names most often used for the 7 and 10 pins are not suitable for a family friendly site such as this.
XX - Double
XXX - Triple or Turkey
XXXX - Four bagger or Hambone
Three splits or opens in a row is a Buzzard.
Leaving a cluster of pins near the head pin and one of the corner pins, like the 1-2-8-10, is a washout.
Splits where there is only one pin missing between the ones standing are baby splits, most common are the 3-10 and 2-7.
The 4-6-7-10 used to be called Double pinochle. The Big Four seems to be used more often of late.
The 4-6-7-9-10 and its mirror image, the 4-6-7-8-10 are both called the Greek Church.
