Since I missed my goal of a 220+ average this Summer (actually ended with a 219.64), I will make that my goal for Fall 2013-2014. I also would like a sanctioned 800 (Haven't had one in eons) and a 300...

    My main goal: have fun!

After that, I'd like to average over 200. If I shoot an honor score, that would be cool but whatever happens...

I would like to maintain a 200+ average in more than 1 league.

    More 700 series.
Work more on spares. (90%+ on single pin) including the bane of my existence the 10

    I wouldn't say no to a 300 either

My standards seem low compared to the rest of you as I'm just a newbie in comparison. :P

    Mine are:

    1) Improve my average from last season by at least 20 pins (so end my league with at least a 140 average)

    2) Have a better showing in tournaments than last year (last year wasn't bad but I'm not settling for how I did last year)

    3) Fill more frames; work on spares and avoid splits.

    4) Get more accurate and consistent.

    5) Figure out how I'm going to convert my spares with a spare ball once I get it drilled, haha.

    6) Possibly sign up for more tournaments if possible. I did two this past winter/season, so maybe if I have a better showing I can go to more.

If you're interested in bowling in tournaments, you will need a USBC sanctioned average. Most of the time people join a league and pay the USBC membership though that. You can become a USBC member by signing up at Bowl.com, but you still need to bowl in a sanctioned league to get the average.
Most tournaments want to use your highest average from the previous full season. If you don't have a previous years average, they will take a summer league ave. If You don't have one of those either they will take a current season's average, as of the date you enter the tournament, as long as you have bowled at least a certain number of games, ( possibly 21 )

If you can't get onto a regular team, see if you can join the league as a floating sub. It might take a bit longer to get the minimum number of games, but you'll get there eventually.

I haven't done a league since last year when I did a youth sport league in June. Before that, I had done a youth scholarship league started in January, and my final average that time was 175

So any averages that you have are from seasons that ended in 2012?
Its probably up to the tournament director as to whether one of these averages can be used.
