The ball can have a balance hole, and a mill hole.
Each finger hole can also have a vent hole.

So for those freaks of nature that have a 6th finger there could be up to 14 holes.

One mill hole for inspection purposes not to exceed 5/8 inch in diameter and 1/8 inch in depth.

A mill hole has a flat, rather than a cone shape at the bottom of the hole.

Usually placed just above the fingers, used to test ball hardness.

The only Aliens I know that might even be interested in bowling, have ONLY 3 fingers!! I think in my last encounter I did take a picture... let me look it up, and post!

Well if I remember my bowling history correctly the origins of bowling came from ancient Egypt. So maybe the aliens that built the pyramids also introduced us to bowling
