    122, 134, 138, 149. 6 strikes for 4 games. 21 splits, 3 washouts. Two missed spares. Good grief.

Well look at this way, if you only missed two spares out of that mess. That was some pretty good spare shooting.

What I meant was I made all but two makeable spares. Chopped the 6-10 off the 3-6-10 and chopped the 7 off the 4-7. 21 splits was 20 open frames, plus missed all the washouts. My best game, the 149, only had two opens, both splits.

I have seen a video of a pro who show lower than that on tv. I think he shot a 101. It is on youtube.

Years ago, Wendy Macpherson told me that every time you bowl, make sure you learn something. The thing that jumps out at me from your stats is that you left 21 splits in 4 games; that's a little more than five splits per game. What could you have done to avoid the splits and shot 4 respectable 180's? I'm pretty sure that you could have done that using a plastic spare ball, forgetting about the lack of carry, and just picked up your spares.

ROBLV1, you'd think that. But the two guys I bowled tonite both couldn't believe what they were seeing me do. The thing that gets me is I bowled on the same oil pattern last week and did well enough that I changed the surfaces of a few balls and even got into the jackpot tonite because I figured I had a good chance.
The last game I went with a highly polished ball that has a neutral drilling and went as straight at the pocket as I could. 149, two splits, no missed spares.

Was it the same pair of lanes you bowled last week? Was the weather the same? Do you routinely check the rack before you bowl and re-rack if necessary?

Different pairs but same house. Weather was about the same. No re-racks allowed unless missing a pin. They just passed their USBC sanctioning inspection two weeks ago. No problems found. Just a gawd-awful night.

What doesn't help is bowling a guy who misses practice then shoot 200+ with 6 consecutive Brooklyn strikes.
