Coming into Day 2, the score to beat was a 682 or 692 (??). So, essentially, it'd take my best series (ever) to bump me into the top spot. Coming into the tournament, I knew the Classic Division winner would likely need a 706+ series.
I have to say, mentally it was going to be a question mark when I realized, on the same pair, I was bowling against one of the better amateurs in the area, a guy that averages over 200, over 220 in some leagues. So, would I get intimidated and poo the bed? Or would I "play up" to his level? I had a decent breakfast versus yesterday when I bowled on an empty stomach. However, I only had 2.5 hours sleep that night.
AM SQUAD
669 Series: 217 (clean)- 247 (clean) - 205
Was able to continue my success in Game 3, but started losing carry in the 6th frame, which was also my only open frame of the series. I was able to regain composure after the open frame, and struck in the 8th and 10th to finish with a decent 205. I beat out the other two classic division rivals by 2 pins, each.
