Thinking you could benefit from putting some more rotation or lift on the ball to get some more reaction from your ball on the lanes. Just my $.01.
    Yeah thanks.

Working with Rob last fall really slowed my approach down, moved it closer to the foul line, and got me rolling the ball versus chucking it.

The next step is the release and I'm working hard on that right now. If I can stay behind/under the ball and allow my thumb to come out clean…with a little more upright stance….I can get decent revs on the ball in a very effortless way. Unfortunately, because I'm used to "gripping" and not to having my thumb come out clean…and I'm not used to keeping my hand behind/under the ball…I have a tendency to drop it from time to time. And until I can get some consistency in my release, I'm going to struggle quite a bit as the rev difference is more dramatic.

I'm confident the revs will come. I can't get impatient and start "trying" to rev the ball. Thats when I start to lose accuracy and start lofting the ball or coming over the top of it. I want to generate revs the RIGHT way…and thats gonna take some time to learn to do consistently.

Most recently I've been focusing on keeping my sweep foot down on it's side on the approach. If I tend to lift that foot or lift that leg into the air…I tend to bend too much over the foul line and release the ball flat. If I can keep that foot flat on it's side…and straighten up just a little bit at the line…I end up generating revs in my release. In addition, I'm trying to add the newest hint from Rob M. which is to shorten my first step. That "hop" used to happen because I was so far back in the approach and taking huge steps. As I've moved up in the approach and shortened those steps…the hop is no longer possible.

Having not seen Aslan bowl for several months, I must say that he has made dramatic improvements in his bowling, but please don't tell him I said so. Now if we could just get this young wipper-snapper to figure out who Peter Sellers is (was).

I might have been a contender, ,,, I might have been a champion,,,,, I could have been somebody,,, with my 224, in that tournament at that point in time,,, but ,,,,BUT ROB HAD to show off his knowledge, and skills, and roll a 227!! GRRRRRRR,,,, double GRRRR!!!!!!!

Why,,,,, WHY did he have to get that turkey in the 10th..... Rob doesn't even like turkey,,, more of a Mexican bean dip guy, with lots of Margareta's!!

Didn't he KNOW IT WAS my BIRTHDAY!!! 3 Pins,,, YOU HAD TO DO IT!!

NEXT YEAR MY OLDER FRIEND,,,, ICEMAN will be back!!!

After watching the video and watching you guys have a blast
if you have it next year in the fall around the same time then
you can count me in I'll be there if nothing happens between
    now and then.

Iceman I may stroll over your way sometime after the first of
the year maybe somewhere around spring time on my trip up
north so I'll have to look you up so we can get together and go
    roll a few games.

It's been a while since I've been on the site, and even longer since I saw Aslan bowl, but holy cow! The approach is looking MUCH better dude! All you need to do now is get that release cleaned up a bit and stay behind the ball more. But it already looks SO MUCH better.

I can't believe it.....Aslan with a nice smooth approach....using a spare ball......he's starting to look like an actual bowler!

DON"T get a BIG head lion man!! Sure your bowling better,,, So WHAT?? Give me the Gift any day over all the bowling instructions in the world!!

Work on that game Lion Man from the West Coast,,, you have time to perfect your game! Then we shall meet again, this time I might just ride in my CAR, instead of my bike! The Name of this Thread has been overshadowed by Rob's victory. The name of this Thread is Aslan vs Iceman!
Who cares about Rob's victory on the lanes he was born on!!! WHO CARES???

That adventuresome ride took a lot out of Iceman! I believe next time I will ride my made in America Prius out with the bike trailer hooked up!
That way I can bring my 6 bagger of TOTAL DISTRUCTION!!

I think Rob had a huge advantage, he had at least a dozen balls with him, and he KNEW THE LANES,,, rumor has it that he was born on lane 1 and two. YES THE SAME LANES WE STARTED the bowl off on! Heck,,,, Mudpuppy only brought ONE ball!! I only had 3, one new and untested?
I am not making up exucses, just know that next meeting, Mudpuppy and Ice will have a FULL arsenal, ready to do battle!

ROB has the Gift!! It was not his knowledge so much as his god given gift that got him by THAT DAY! Here is how I see it!

    1. knowledge can be power, but you better have the Gift to handle that knowledge. Rob has both, and that sucks!

    2. Aslan is evolving,,,, many aspects of his game are showing improvement, (to a degree), but DOES HE HAVE THE GIFT,, hiding in that Peter Sellers shell?

    3. Next meeting, Mudpuppy Will bring more weapons,,, He has a gift, and showed it on lane 1 and 2! But when we moved to the new lanes, ( a move that was set up in advance for reasons known to but a small number of insiders, Mud will be prepared next time,,, he might even bring TWO BALLS!!!

There will be another Clash of Bowling Titans! I am thinking next spring, or summer when the rates drop in Vegas and maybe more opening on the lanes at Sam's town! Real Men bowl at Sam's town!
I might just bring my 5th wheel out this time, and I know Sam's town has a nice camp area, Ice cycle and me enjoyed our camping experience their a number of years ago... YES I THINK WE WILL BRING THE CAMPER to our next meeting!!

HOME AWAY from HOME,,, I will be in much better condition and READY to DEFEAT, not only Aslan,,,, (piece of cake), but the bowling God ROB!!

Keep at that game ROB!!!! ICE has you in his sights!!!

    3 fircken PIN's..... gRRRRRRRRR..... GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! I want revenge$#@$^$^$^!$!$^$^
